How does ukCupid work?
You register free. Registration collects all the information we will ever request
from you - you can even post a photograph. The sign up process can
be completed in less than 5 minutes, although we do encourage you
to take your time over your advertisement wording. By choosing to
complete all of your details when you first sign up, you will get
the best benefit of our superb facilities and give yourself the
best possible chance of finding your ideal partner or friend.
You search: Once you're registered, you are free to search
our member database for your perfect match. You can search by age
and location (County), or you can do a more detailed search if you
have exacting requirements.
You contact: When you find somebody you think you'd like
to get to know, you simply click the 'contact' button. If you're
not yet subscribed, you will be asked to do so. You compose your
message and it is sent direct to the contacts email address.
You wait: All you need do then is wait for a reply! The
recipient of your contact message will have the opportunity to reply
to you free of charge, so there's nothing to put them off replying.
Any replys will be delivered direct to your email address - so please
ensure your email address is valid.
Remember: Registering is absolutely FREE
the only
time you'll be asked to pay a small subscription is if you want
to initiate contact with another member.

How soon will my details appear on the

Do I have to supply a photograph?
No ... but it's highly recommended! Experience has shown that members
without photographs are less likely to be contacted by other members.
Your photo sould be approximately passport sized.

Do I have to complete the entire registration
form?
No ... but it's highly recommended! If you don't complete your
profile and select your interests and demographic profile, then
other members will not get a clear picture of what you're about.
You're therefore less likely to be contacted.

Why do I have to supply my address?
Security. We take the safety and security of our members extremely
seriously. We keep a record of members address and personal information
so that in the event of any dispute, we are in a position to accurately
identify people. You can be assured that we never ever disclose
your address to any other party and that the information is encrypted
and secured in our database.

Will my card be automatically re-billed?
No. Unlike some other sites, we will never automatically re-bill
your card. For your peace of mind your card will be billed once
only for your subscription, once your subscription has expired you
can continue to search for matches as before and subscribe again
at any time should you wish to contact any member.

Will you give out any of my personal details?
No. Absolutely, categorically, without exception, NEVER. Were
passionate about your security and it's entirely up to you to decide
if and what you want to tell people when you contact them.

How do I cancel my membership?
Please read Section 5.6 of our published terms & conditions first.
You simply need to send us an email via our contact
page, advising that you wish to terminate your membership. On
receipt, we will delete all your information from our database and
you will receive no further communication from us.

Can my membership be terminated by you?
Yes. If we discover that information you have given us is false, if
we receive justified complaints about your behaviour, or you have
violated any of the terms laid out in our terms & conditions,
we will terminate your membership and take your details off the
website immediately.

What if a memeber sends me an offensive
message, or becomes a nuisance?
You can bar any member from sending you messages. Once you invoke
a bar, the offending member will never be able to contact you again.
If you still have concerns, or would like us to consider terminating
membership of an offender, then please let us know immediately via
our contact form.

What if I forget my Password?
No problem, drop us a line, and your password will be sent to your
registered email address.

I keep having to relogin.
Under normal conditions you only have to login once each time you
visit the protected area of the site. But, for your security, your
login will expire after 20 minutes of inactivity. You should always
remember to click 'logout' when you leave the ukCupid site.
If you are constantly prompted to login at every page, it could
be that you have not got your browser set to accept cookies correctly.
You need to enable all cookies.
